More will be done with this piece of mokume but I couldn't resist taking some photos of it. I like the way it becomes a landscape,
a river, plowed fields, a terraced hillside. It feels wonderful as it wraps around the hands or stretches between the fingers. Oh yes more will be done.

i've looked at my arashi work the same way. so often looking like geography as much as shibori. i call mine shiboriscapes....
Hi Glennis I LOVE your shiboriscapes they remind me of canyons or glacial caverns and the colors are so ethereal!
How fascinating! I recently learned a technique with polymer clay called "mokume gane". It involves building up layers that are then sliced apart thinly....trying to understand the use of "mokume" for both these techniques. Maybe the folds in your cloth are like the layers of clacy?
Hi Mistress! as I understand it mokume means wood grain in Japanese, I'm trying to picture the effect you get with all those layers of clay...does it look like wood grain?
